Many newcomers to the sweepstakes hobby wonder whether they’re entering enough sweepstakes. How many do you really have to enter to win? The problem is, there’s no magical number of sweepstakes that will turn you into a winner. (If there were, this would be a much easier hobby for people to break into!) Getting started with sweepstakes requires both faith that a win will come, and the patience to see it through.
The only sure answer to the question, “how many sweepstakes do you have to enter to win?” is: one. You have to enter at least one sweepstakes to win any sweepstakes. But is it likely that you’ll be a winner with a single entry?
Some sweepers have done it. I’ve heard of people who entered sweepstakes on a lark, and won huge prizes – cars, trips, cash, etc. Heck, the winner of HGTV’s first $1.5 million Urban Oasis Sweepstakes won with a single entry, after his mother told him he should give it a shot.
One Part of Winning: Luck Versus Number of Entries
Just because you can win with a single entry, doesn’t mean you should count on it happening for you. You can think about winning as a spectrum with luck on one end, and number of entries on the other. The fewer sweepstakes you enter, the more luck you need to be a winner.
On the other hand, if you enter a lot of sweepstakes regularly, you don’t need a profound amount of luck to start winning. I don’t consider myself a very lucky person, but I do win regularly, because I enter a decent number of sweepstakes on a regular basis.
Another Part of Winning: Time it Takes to Win
The challenging part about getting started with sweepstakes is hanging on to the belief that your entries will pay off until that first win comes in. If you enter only a few sweepstakes (and you are not phenomenally lucky!), it can take a long time to win. By which point, many people have given up.
It’s not a sure thing, but in general, the more sweepstakes you enter, the higher your chances of a win coming more quickly.
So You Have to Enter a Lot of Sweepstakes to Win, Right?
While it’s true that you raise your odds of winning and shorten the time you have to wait to win by entering more sweepstakes, there are other considerations, too. For example, you don’t want to be spending so much time entering sweepstakes that you are ignoring your family or your other responsibilities. And if you enter too many sweepstakes, you could get burned out quickly.
So despite the benefits of more entries, I don’t recommend that you quit your job, wave goodbye to your family, and enter sweepstakes 24/7. It’s not healthy, it won’t make you happier, and if you get too frustrated, you might even be setting yourself up to give up and not win at all!
So How Many Sweepstakes DO I Need to Enter to Win?
The number of sweepstakes you should be entering depends on your individual circumstances. How much free time you have and how much enjoyment you’re getting from your daily entries are two things you should consider when marking out time for your sweepstakes entries.
It also helps to follow tips to enter sweepstakes faster and to come up with a sweepstakes strategy to maximize the number of entries you can get in the time you have available to you.
